Established by a vote of Union County residents in March 1992, the college was formed through the merger of the El Dorado branch of Southern Arkansas University and Oil Belt Technical College. The college operates two main campuses: the West Campus, situated at 300 South West Avenue, and the East Campus, known as the Career Accelerator, located at 3696 East Main Street.
