South Arkansas College, commonly known as SouthArk, is a public community college located in El Dorado, Arkansas. Established by a vote of Union County residents in March 1992, the college was formed through the merger of the El Dorado branch of Southern Arkansas University and Oil Belt Technical College. This consolidation aimed to provide accessible higher education and workforce development opportunities to the region. The college operates two main campuses: the West Campus, situated at 300 South West Avenue, and the East Campus, known as the Career Accelerator, located at 3696 East Main Street. SouthArk offers a range of academic programs, including associate degrees and certificates, across various disciplines.
